LLM citation rate measures how often a brand's own content (homepage, blog posts, glossary entries, case studies) is cited as the source for an AI-generated answer. Mention rate counts the brand name appearing; citation rate counts the brand's URL or content being attributed as the source.

Citation rate is the more durable metric. Mentions can disappear when a model retrains; citations are anchored to discoverable, structured content the model can re-extract.
